Orkut going to add Scrap Alert Feature

Orkut is growing better and better day by day..
Now orkut says that it would be installing a new feature in few days called Scrap Alert...

With scrap alerts you can be on any orkut page and find out that you have received a scrap - that very minute. You could be browsing your friend's photos, and find out "hey! I just got a new scrap." Then you can click on the "Scrapbook" link to reply on the spot. This way you'll be free to explore all of orkut, comforted in the knowledge that when you have received a new scrap, you'll know about it that moment.

This Feature would be in our control means if we want to disable it we can do it from our settings page..Orkut will be rolling this feature out over the new few days for all users

Orkut Cute : Latest Version

Orkut Cute is a great software made by APCSoftware. I used to use it in the past some 9-10 months ago...The new version of Orkut Cute have arrived so you can download it...

Here is what ApcSoftware says about it :
Orkut Cute came to be with the intent to ease the access to your Orkut account. With it you can easily access your account and quickly check your scraps. The program automatically logs in to Orkut creating an icon on the Windows system tray. All it takes to access your account is a double-click on that icon.

It also allows for you to send scraps to all your friends at once.

You can set up the program to warn you whenever someone sends you a scrap.

Characteristics:
- You can create several standard messages: they are stored in a database, so that you don’t need to type them all over again.
- You can choose to which friends you want to send your message
- Macroreplacement unique system. By placing the identifiers $nc$ or $nl$ anywhere on your message, they will be replaced by your friend’s name once the message is posted.
- By activating the “random messages” option the program will search messages randomly on its database everytime it posts. This way you will be able to create several messages and each of your friends will receive a different message.

Peta Goes to Police against Orkut

Mumbai, Nov 22 - Drop them from building tops, run them over with your car - are just some of the ways to kill dogs that Orkut's canine-hating members suggest while socialising online. Animal rights group People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) India has now complained to the police.

Peta accused Orkut, the social networking site, of promoting cruelty to animals and has demanded action against it by cyber cells of the government.

Peta has written to the Mumbai police and complained that among topics discussed on Orkut community sites was 'I hate dogs'.

Communicators on the site took part in discussions such as 'How 2 kill a dog'.
One member of the community suggested killing of puppies 'by dropping them from a building' and also admitted to throwing three puppies.

Another admitted, 'I have killed two by my car after 10-12 hard tries near my place. One was a small puppy on which I dragged my bike.'

In a letter to Mumbai's joint commissioner of police, copied to the secretary, Department of Information and Technology, Government of India and COO, Google, PETA has urged the police to immediately direct the website to block such illegal content.

It has also demanded appropriate action against the members who claim to have committed acts in violation of Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (Act) 1960.

'Instances such as these indicate a disturbing trend. People who are violent to animals rarely stop there,' said Peta India coordinator, campaigns and legal affairs, N.G. Jayasimha.
'A person who comes home and kicks the dog is probably just warming up.'

'Studies show that people who abuse their animal companions are likely to abuse their kids,' the Peta official added.

Scrap All - Without Any Ads

Now there are a lot of Scrap All friends containing an advertisement at the end of the scrap...




There are two ways to switch this off...

First is to use our Scrap All Script which is the oldest and also free from ads..

Second way is to disable adverisement from the current Scrap All scripts...










It is a very simple trick...in the message section when you have written your message body there just type <.Script> without "."

The advertisement would be disabled.... :)

View Locked Albums - Album Hack (Not Working Anymore)

People can now only allow friends to view there albums but with this easy trick you can view there Album...

Method to use this trick :

Post to all communities : Greasemonkey Script

Well here is a nice greasemonkey script...You Guys would need Firefox as well as Greasemonkey installed to run this script

1) This greasemonkey script Post to All Communities was developed by Vijay.
2) This userscript posts a message on all the communities that you have joined.

Method :
First Download The Script.
Then Just change the following two lines in the postallcommunities.user.js file :
document.getElementById("subject").value="The subject of your post";document.getElementById("messageBody").value="The message body of your post";
3) In the message body, you can introduce new lines by typing "\r\n" wherever you want a new line. For example, "This is line 1\r\nThis is line 2" will make the post in two different lines.
4) making the changes, drag and drop the postallcommunities.user.js file into the firefox window, and install the script. To get the script running, just visit is the "Communities" page in orkut, the posting will start automatically. If you want to stop the posting, just click on "Home" and uninstall the userscript.
